Today, as part of the "2024 Noto Peninsula Earthquake Reconstruction Assistance Project" at Okawahama Beach in Machino-cho
The "beach opening" was being held, and the disaster NGO Yui had opened a café,
We brought dorayaki, baumkuchen, and assorted jellies to that location.

Okawa beach has been used almost exclusively as a swimming beach with few sandy beach areas until now,
Due to the uplift of the coast caused by the earthquake, the sandy beach has approximately doubled in size,
They are now able to do beach sports and other activities.

We also worked with volunteers to help those affected by the disaster to feel at ease, even if only a little,

However, as far as the fishing industry is concerned, there is no recovery in sight at this time.

Six months have passed since the Noto Peninsula earthquake,

Some areas were stopped again due to falling rocks caused by heavy rains,

Today we visited the local supermarkets Iroha Store and Dontaku Anamizu,
Dontaku" Anamizu finally reopened for business yesterday, July 13,
Visitors to the store said, "Congratulations on the reopening," and "I'm glad we are much closer to a place where we can go to buy food.

At the supermarket, though, I bought morning corn from Ishikawa Prefecture,
Corn from Ishikawa Prefecture is very sweet and tasty,
I wanted everyone to taste it.

I also went to "Shirome Senmaida," a spectacular view representing the "satoyama sea of Noto."
It was a pleasant place with an elevated view.

What a surprise, "Satoyama Sea of Noto" is together with "Satoyama of Sado Island coexisting with crested ibis" in Sado City, Niigata Prefecture,
It was the first place in Japan to be recognized as a World Agricultural Heritage site.
It is one of the places you should visit when you are in Noto.

Visiting a heavily damaged area is a burden on the local community, though,
In order for the city to recover, local revitalization through tourism is also necessary and has become a challenge.

There is a gradual increase in the number of tourist destinations that are regaining their former appearance,
The local people also said that they would like people from outside Ishikawa Prefecture to visit the area for sightseeing.

There are many forms of support, and we hope that the circle of support will expand as much as possible.
